Twisting Vines
A Journey Through Acanthus and Scroll traces how botanical ornament moves between architecture, print and contemporary visual communication.

Old ornament, new movement.
The project researches the acanthus motif and its long history across architecture and decorative arts. Botanical forms, traditional pattern structures, typography and colour were analysed before being rebuilt as an original visual system.
The physical outcome is an accordion-fold publication whose structure allows the pattern to unfold as a continuous journey. Digital motion expands the same forms through symmetry, transition and references to Chinese scrolling floral motifs.

Digital extension
The ornament unfolds in time.
Motion studies translate the printed system into symmetrical transformations and continuous transitions.
